Way Art West has been involved in almost all aspects of presenting live music from identifying new artists to presenting them in concert or on record. This experience has led to a wide range of activities and services being provided. With over 20 years experience in concert promotion, 15 years programming, touring and fundraising this experience has informed more recent additions such as commission management and education. Touring
Way Art West began touring in the late nineties as part of the Latin Promoters Network and Live Roots. Since 2001 it has produced tours that have been at all scales from small rural tours to full concert hall tours. Also touring has been done on behalf of other organisations such as Music Beyond Mainstream and Punch
Festivals and Venues
Starting in the late 90’s with Respect in the West, continuing with BBC Music Live and Bristol Harbour Festival and BASS Festival we currently produce Sandwell Arts Festival. We have also programmed major concert halls such as COlston Hall, De Monfort Hall and Warwick Arts Centre
Commissions
From the three year international development project PALOP Africa, to the urban intervention NightSafe and the large scale live commission Imagined Village and Dancing for the Games – Dance Roots, complex partnerships and multiple funding agreements have delivered many exciting projects
Fundraising
Sandwell Arts Festival is now in its sixth year. For the past two years it has been managed by Way Art West. In addition, and building on the success of last years festival Way Art West is now programming a mix of performance, workshop and exhibition to the former Public
Audience Development
Audience development lies at the core of much of what we do, whether it is through programming at COlston Hall to our current flagship project Track Change. We have an enviable track record in connecting hard to reach communities.
Education
Following on from work in audience development a number of initiatives in education are being developed that explore the relationship between Islam and performing arts, lining together music trusts, academic institutions and venues
